1Homeschool Instructional Support (H.I.S.) Classes is an association of teachers who have coordinated their schedules to better serve the home educating community.  We believe parents have a God-given responsibility to teach their children.  Our desire is to assist parents in home educating their children by offering high quality, college preparatory classes taught by believers.  Our focus is to develop the student's critical thinking and problem solving skills from a Christ-centered, doctrinally sound perspective.  It is our prayer that this focus will result in the student being academically and spiritually prepared for his calling in life.

Registration

To register for a class,

1. Complete one (1) Registration form for each teacher. (Some classes have special registration forms. See course descriptions.)

2. Mail the completed registration with a check for one month’s tuition to the teacher.  These checks will not be cashed before July 1.

3. Complete a Parent/Student Agreement form and mail to Debbie Gott.

After July 1, there are no refunds. Late cancellations cause hardships for teachers and prevent other students from taking classes.

Tuition Payments

Tuition payments will be paid to each individual teacher.  To ease payment, the total tuition for each class is divided into 10 monthly payments, payable monthly, beginning July 1 and continuing through April 1, regardless of how many classes are taught each month.  The first payment is due at the time of registration.  The remaining installments are due on the first of each month, August through April.

After the 10th day of each month, the payment is considered late, and a late fee of $10 will be charged unless prior arrangements are made.  If tuition is not paid by the next due date, the student may not be allowed to come to class until the balance is paid in full.  If you are having trouble paying your tuition, talk to the teacher as soon as possible to work out other arrangements.   Work Swaps are sometimes available for those in need. For more information, contact the teacher.

Some courses have lab, book or supply fees. Some courses have a different payment plan.  Consult the course description for specifics.

Study Hall & Fellowship Hall

HIS Classes will provide a study/fellowship hall for students who are between classes.  All students who will participate in study/fellowship hall will be required to register for the times they will be in the study/fellowship hall.  Check the HIS Classes Registration Form for instructions on how to register for study/fellowship hall.  Study Hall is generally in the morning.  Students who are in the study hall will be expected to do some type of quiet school work or reading.  Fellowship hall is generally in the afternoon.  Students in fellowship hall will be allowed to visit quietly; there will be an area for students who need to study during that time. See the schedule for study hall and fellowship hall hours. Any student who violates these rules will be sent home. Students must be mature enough to follow the rules, or they cannot attend HIS classes.

  • All students must be in a classroom or in the Study/Fellowship Hall at all times.  Students are NOT allowed to hang out in the hallways, bathrooms, outside or in the parking lot.

  • No audio/video equipment is allowed.  It is impossible for us to monitor the appropriateness of music, movies, video games, etc; therefore we ask that students not bring them to class or study hall.

  • Study/Fellowship Hall is for HIS Classes students only.  Siblings or other children cannot be on campus unless a parent is directly supervising them.

Paid monitors supervise students between class periods.
